About Gold-Silver ratio
A lot of us follow Gold price movements, Silver price movements and try to make up our mind on investing. It is very important to get comfortable with Gold-Silver ratio. Let me give some titbits of knowledge on this ratio and how to look at it. So, currently, Gold-Silver ratio is around 75. This means, for 1 gram of Gold, you can get around 75 grams of Silver. Gold price is 75 times the price of Silver. Observe the chart below:

Before the Silver rally of January 2026, Gold-Silver ratio was around 80. During the rally, the ratio dipped. As in Silver started rising a lot more in its price compared to Gold. So, at around the end of January 2026, when Gold Silver ratio was at around 48, the reading from an expert would have been that Silver rallied a bit too much and it can dip. If you observe the graph above, after the ratio dipped to around 48, the ratio then went up. In recent history, the Gold Silver ratio has been between 50 and 80, occasionally above and below this range.
So, the questions to ask - right now, Gold-Silver ratio is 75. More importantly, it was around 60-65 for the most part since Iran war started, and over the past few weeks, it has gone upto 75. So, when the precious metals dipped given the inflation forecasts and the anticipated interest rate rise, Gold price dipped, but Silver price dipped a lot more.
From an investment decision perspective, you need to be aware what your fundamental thesis is. If you are long term bullish on Silver, at this moment, does the ratio say Silver is not overbought? If you learned that Silver price is highly volatile, does this curve educate you more on when not to rush into Silver buying fever?
